During the December, I decided to visit Opatija to enjoy Advent season. Opatija is a beautiful town on the Adriatic sea, one of the Croatian pearls, well known as a winter and summer tourist destination. This season, Advent in Opatija is absolutely gorgeous.

I came during the afternoon to experience Opatija during the day and after the sunset. Immediately when I stepped on the street I felt this Christmas spirit. I enjoyed the view from the hotel Savoy toward the promenade Lungomare.

A beautiful sea covered with the red light during the sunset and different Christmas decorations all around. Walking through the Lungomare I arrived to the famous symbol of the Opatija “The girl with the seagull”. Here I found amazing Christmas decoration, just ideal photo point to make amazing photography. The view to the sculpture and a red sky after the sunset is a really priceless.

I continued walking near the Art pavilion Šporer. People laughing, street singers playing guitars and other music instruments, the night is falling, beautiful lights all around.

Walking through the park Angiolina, I had feeling that every single tree has decorated. Everything looked amazing. I found the House of the sweets with lollipops on the windows.

Here are also areas called “Christmas walking of the Opatija’s ladies” and “Christmas fairytale with nutcrackers”.

Behind the corner have located “The wood of elf’s” and the Romantic music pavilion. Here you could find more beautiful photo corners.

Children will be very happy since the skating ring locate in the area of the Summer stage. Here locate more different wooden houses, where you could try different kind of food and drink.

I decided to walk back toward the Pavilion Šporer to try some warm drink and delicious food. You could try some boiled wine and different kind of sausages. I choose hot and soft “fritule” with chocolate. It’s sweets similar to small donuts and it’s absolutely delicious.

If you like the Christmas spirit, I strongly recommend to visit Opatija, which is also beautiful during the whole year.
